The Project

Quail hosted a morning for young budding scientists to hunt for Ladybugs which would then be collected and photographed.

Other associated art and craft projects were also offered. Click here for some general pictures of the day.

A large number of  budding scientists and their parents showed up for the event and they spent about an hour looking for ladybugs in three shifts in five areas between 10:30 am and 12 noon.

During this period they collected 176 ladybugs and ladybug larvae. Click here for photos.

After event observations:-

1. We did not anticipate as many people attending

2. We did not expect them to find as many ladybugs.

3. We did not have enough collection jars.

4. People really seemed to enjoy the day.

5. We need better cool lighting for the photographs.
